dads 01 SL with 214k on it finally left him stranded.

The rod on the clutch pedal going into the master cylinder came out.

I put the rod back in place and worked the clutch. The rod "attached" itself back into position on the cylinder because the pedal will not come out past the normal range.

Question is whether to replace the entire assembly since it has failed once, it probably will again.

From a quick search it looks like the entire assembly is sold as one piece, from the master to the slave cylinder. Is this correct? How difficult of a job?

Replace or keep motoring until it happens again?
