CAN Gateway dying??

I seem to get a bunch of strange readings when I do an auto scan with my Vag Com on my 2006.5 Jetta. A number of malfunctions, no connections etc., seem to show up. Other than an ongoing battery drain (half of which is my Delphi radio that was already replaced once), the car runs fine and everything appears to work.
Anyone have any ideas? It also seems like the CAN Gateway or something else is going south.

Or have I just totally screwed up my coding somehow? Any suggestions?

Each line that reads "Malfunction" indicate that the Gateway thinks there are one or more fault codes in that module.

Each line that reads "Not Registered" indicates a module that the Gateway knows is there, i.e. can communicate with) but you have told the it via coding doesn't really exist. You can fix these by coding the Gateway properly.

02635 - Tuner Not Enabled/Activated means you haven't paid your Sirius subscription.

The various Electric Window Motor -- No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation codes can probably be cured by "synching" the windows. Run each window all the way down and continue to hold the switch in the down position for more than one second after the window stops. Then run it all the way up and continue to hold the switch in the up position for more than one second after the window stops. Do this twice for each window.

After you've coded the Gateway correctly and synched the windows, clear all the fault codes (preferably in each module that has 'em). The drive the car for a day, re-scan it and see what has come back.

WOW!! Thanks so much, I'll give it a try. Interestingly I upped my Sirius a couple of months ago and it works fine. I am suspect of the radios it draws 1.5 amps even when off. Unless I pull the fuse the car will not start after 24-48 hours. I have also found the fuses for the front and rear door control modules also draw 1-amp continuously even 1/2 hour after shutting off the car having first removed the key.

Sounds like something is keeping the car from powering down the way it should. I've heard that there may be some Buggy gateway firmware versions out there that can cause this, especially when different radios and such have been retrofit, but I don't have a whole lot of details. Is all your stuff stock? What do you mean by "I upped my Sirius a couple of months ago"?

I have had Jeff of Rocket Chip retune my car (chip in ECU). The car has Hella HID's and that's about it for upgrades.

As far as the Sirius what I meant was that I had renewed my subscription (upped) several months ago. I added 2 more years to my subscription.

Again thank you. I'll give this a try tomorrow and see how it goes.

I'm not saying this is the source of your problem but there have been reports of aftermarket HIDs causing really strange issues and even outright failures of control modules on Mk.5 cars in Europe.

Oh oh, I hope the lights are OK. I suppose I could disconnect them and see how the coding goes. I'm still in the process of trying to recode everything today (work keeps getting in the way). I'll let you know how I make out. I may still have a question or two. Thanks again for your help.

Checked again today and everything looks excellent, again thanks. Now for a couple of tweaks and I'll be all set.

I still need to get the horn to beep when I lock the car (I check this off in long coding and the new coding is accepted) but the horn still doesn't beep when locking and when I go back it's unchecked again. I'll bet there's something I need to check.

Also looking for how to get the passenger side mirror to lower when I put the car in reverse. It used to work, before I goofed up the coding. I have it checked off in long coding but no luck so far. If I remember correctly I'd have to clear some memory or do something else before it'll work. Ideas?
