Since I bought my car (b4 Passat 1Z) it is sometimes (when warm usually) difficult to shift into

1st gear (no grinding however) and sometimes when shifting to 2nd grinds (only at high rpms -

2700+) but engages with no opposition (in 2nd).

Question1: Ofcourse it is probably the syncro wearing out but could changing the oil help at all?

Or is it just different things?

Question2: Is it true that 2nd and 1st gear share a common syncro?

TIA!,

None now, .
Could be syncro's or the hydraulic assist on the clutch needing adjustment, incorrect or low gear oil. Also could be a combo of all three. On my Nissan Truck it was syncro's after putting off repair/replacing clutch master cylinder and hydraulic ram cylinder on transmission too long. I actually had pieces of syncros come out in a gear oil change, I knew then I had problems and had waited too long. $$$$$
