On a road trip with my 2012 jetta TDi, "slightly" modded.

Anyway, I remember my first 600 mile tank, 700 mile tank and the elusive 800 mile tank.....I'm going gonzo for 900 miles right now....I think I can I think I can....it's gonna be close!

920 miles
63.1 mpg!!!!

Drove from Eau Claire wi to Bloomington Indiana and back! This includes running around Bloomington Illinois looking for a Mexican restaurant and Bloomington Indiana for work. Pure interstate travel and 1,000 is mine!

After the 920 mile tank I set the cruise at 72 and netted 55.5 mpg for the last 260 miles! This car rocks!

You guys are nuts, how can you go 60 mpg for 900 miles hahaha? Im still in on my first 600 mile tank but Ive never done 600 miles straight so Im assuming I could get 700 if i did that

The best thing is this was a work trip. I spent $75 in fuel and am being reimbursed .56 per mile. This car made me $770 this trip minus the fuel it's $695 in 2 days......plus time and a half makes me want to do more work trips!

Gratz Sips. You realize that if you can slosh some of the air out of the tank, and repeat that performance 1K would be within reach. It's lonely up here. Anyway, impressive run, and I remember when I was told that a Mk6 couldn't do 800 mile tanks. Oh, and that makes you the 3rd person I know of to break 900 miles on a tank in a Mk6. Feels good, doesn't it?

It was a fun challenge. My passenger and I spoke a lot of different techniques to use to go for the 1,000 mile tank.

I will go for it when the timing is right.

Okay, depending on how long winter lasts, I'm planning a road trip for May 2015. I'll take 2 days to drive out west then drive straight back non stop. Fun, eh?

Sweet....depending on conditions sounds like it would be an ideal time to go for it.

Try and loop us in as much as possible, would love to see you break 1K or even 1,100.
