Hi

I got a 2015 mk7 TDI with 122000 miles. I noticed some oil seepage (or coolant?) at the bottom of the timing belt cover near the crankshaft. (it is a light color and is very minimal so far)

I'm due for a timing belt soon (130k), wondering if I should do it earlier.

Anybody has something similar ?

PS: I saw somebody had something similar but looking much worse (like dark oil) and it turned out to be just a water pump leak. https://forums.vwvortex.com/showthr...eak-passenger-side-any-advice-photos-included

I would at least get the timing cover off and look at it. But being as close as you are on miles I would probably just plan on doing the whole TB/WP job. The water pumps on these cars are not known for their outstanding durability and it is probably leaking in your case.

yeah just pull the trigger on the TB job and consider yourself lucky that the WP made the full life cycle.

Also make sure that WP is replaced, some dealers are reluctant to replace them under normal TB jobs.
