My turbo just broke, the wheel on the cold side got busted... But this is how the hot side looks >

It seems like it started melting. The vnt was stuck hard, what can cause this.
remaped, 0.240, 10mm pump, gt1749va
pushing about 160bhp, 390nm.

I believe that generation turbo can only handle 1650 sustained. You're pushing it a bit hard for that turbo, it's a bit small for that kind of power. If you're pushing that much power continuously, it'd be worth it to step up to a GTB or newer generation turbo that's designed to handle a DPF. Those turbos are designed to sustain over 1900 degrees.

Yes it is good to 180bhp with a large fmic and and a EGT gauge. My 2002 was 150 bhp and if I floored it on a hill in 5th the EGT would climb upwards to 1600 on my gauge, so I would downshift reducing load and the EGT would drop.
