My son-in-law bought my '05 Jetta TDI several years ago. It now has 90k miles and it's just about time for the timing belt replacement. His local dealer (Tampa Bay area) is quoting ~ $1100. Does that sound right? Any better places to have it done? Thanks

Him self. All the tools and parts will be cheaper than that, and next go round will be even more cost savings. He might want to be prepared to replace some cam bearings and cam also while in there.

There is a couple of local guys that make that dealer's price look sick. How about 1/2 that price?

Call me or email me and I can set you up with one or another of my vendors.
