long story short. injectorsand pump checked, turbo rebuilt, intake cleaned.found cat to be plugged, rodded it out.car ran fine for a while(65 mi one way to work).the other day I felt the car go dead, still runs and drives fine but no power. here is the kicker, if you turn the key off and then back on you have power back until it shuts down again.this process has become expensive and time consuming. any help will greatly appreciated

lost one wing (OUCH)

yes a 98 has one, and did that before we rotted out the cat but it made it worse because I couldn't turn the key off and back on to get the power back. But since the cat was rotted out I'm afraid to try it again. my mechanic is real pro when it comes to these cars but it even has him stumped.

You are experiencing "limp mode" - and could be a variety of causes.

Swap out the hoses to/from the N75.

Swap out the hose from the innercooler to the ECU, including the hose INSIDE the ecu.

Sounds more like the oring on the fuel shut off solenoid. I experieced the same symtoms exactly with my 98, I found the bad seal in the fuel cut off solenoid, cheap fix if that is it.
