My wife and I swapped cars for the day and she told me driving thru a fast food place that when she let off the clutch it didn't come all the way back out. The pedal came out 3/4's of the way. She had noticed a bad smell as the clutch was in this position, and was not totally out, this occurred for approx 20 seconds, till she used her toe and lifted the clutch back fully out. No noise, no smoke, and she was in neutral.
I've driven the car 5 miles since that happen with her today and you can still smell that rotton egg kinda smell under the hood on the drivers side of the motor.
The car is a 2010 Jetta TDI, 50,700 miles, and never had a wrench on it, yet .
Any ideas? Never expected any troubles from the clutch for a Long time. My last clutch had almost 300k and never replaced :).

Pretty unlikely that its a clutch problem, I have no expierence specific to our MKVI's but in general if it persists would start with flushing/bleeding the brake/clutch fluid(Here) then move on to the slave cylinder.
