Ok, I need some help. Early this past spring a Wisconsin TDIer posted pictures and information on a tow hitch which he ordered from the UK. It was a funny looking thing but it looked quite beefy. Any pics or leads to this thread would be most appreciated. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, I finally found the old thread after an hour of searching.
The Euro detachable hitch is made by Bosal and distributed through www.towitall.co.uk. This is a pretty heavy duty unit.

Before you purchase ensure that the size of the ball is going to be compatible with the hitches that are common in North America. The trailer hitches that I've seen in Europe use a solid casting with the ball machined out of a solid iron hook. They aren't of the design to allow you to buy different sized balls to accomodate the different sized couplings on the trailers. If you need a different sized ball you have to buy a different sized hook.
