2000 Jetta ALH, No Start, What I was Told

Wasn't immobilizer problem as it was the original ECU, the ECU had simply went bad or internally it had gotten a moisture or gunk damage. I'm unsure 100% on what the problem with ECU was.

I simply did enough testing till I narrowed down the problem to either bad wiring in the harness or bad ECU. I of course went with a new/used ECU first before attempting to find a scathed wire in that mess of a harness.

If I had replaced the ECU and still had a problem I would've just pulled the engine because my god is the wiring on this car a mess from the factory. So many wires that don't need to be there for a car to run. I mean have you seen a harness that is stripped down to just what is necessary to run. It's simplistic.
