B2 diesel by end of year?

Has anyone heard anything about whether or not the oil companies are on track for this?

The deadline imposed by the government is still Dec. 31, 2012, right?

I wonder what the source of the bio fuel will be.

I hadn't heard anything at all on this but I'm thrilled if it happens!

I emailed Irving and Petro Canada on the topic. Apparently the requirement is a national average and neither has plans to bring B2 into Atlantic Canada. Sounds like they are still developing their plans to meet the requirements, but both said they would focus on larger centers that may also have provincial requirments.

That being the case though it seems as though they will have to increase the amount of biodiesel above B2 in those areas for the average of all sales to be 2% bio content.
