The time has come. I've had this baby for over 10 years now, but I've been living in NYC for the last 2 and haven't had a need for a car in a while. It's been sitting in my friends driveway(hasbrouck heights, nj) for a few months. They start it up for me and I drive it around on weekends sometimes, but it's not getting the attention she deserves.
I want to be upfront about this one - while it runs great, it needs some cosmetic attention. It has a few things that you should know about. Here's the list -
1. interior hood latch can be pulled out. It works, but can come disconnected - I never found a fix for this.
2. rear window tinting is bunching up and making it hard to see through. Could be removed or replaced easily
3. Both doors, near the door handle have the cloth coming off. I'll post a picture
4. Windshield has a small crack
5. Interior roof liner is coming off
6. Drivers side speaker sometimes rattles
7. Glove box - lid is gone, wanted to replace but never got around to it.
8. Drivers side door handle got pulled off
9. I painted the front vw logo black, and that finish is coming off
10. Airbag light is coming on, have never investigated
11. Paint on roof is fading
12. Light rust on hood
13. Back right seat belt came unbolted and I haven't re fastened
So this car may make a great parts car, fixer upper or first car.

It will need -
Timing Belt in the next 30k miles
EGR Valve and Solenoid should be replaced
Replace Vacuum Pump Gasket/Seal
new brake pads
I've used synthetic 5w40 every 10k since I got it, replaced fuel filter ever 20k and only used tdi club approved mechanics for major work. Tires have about 70% left on them. Battery is brand new VW geniune.
