Mambatek billet compressor wheel

Does anyone have any experience with this wheel, or this company in general? I'm in the process of getting ready to rebuild my turbo, and considering upgrading my compressor wheel, but don't have 400 bucks for a batmowheel. What are my options?

iirc same taiwanese quality as the rest, ebay might be cheaper than through their store

kinda sucks swapping parts around on these tiny little turbos, with how fast they spin they die quick when you can't VSR them

give it a go, don't be surprised if it needs bearings again pretty quick
imo, better off staying with the stock compressor if you aren't actually changing any of the dimensions

Before putting money in a bv39, you are better of, replacing it with a less prone to fail Garrett GT1646V....

If you are rebuilding that turbo do the bare minimum to make it work again.

EDIT: noticed you have a BRM not BEW so the GT1646 is what you want.

Then save up for a VNT17. The VNT17 is much more reliable then the stock one and will be a much larger improvement then a upgraded wheel.

OP, did you find out the cause of the two turbo failures you had?

There are piles of GTC1549VZ turbos on eBay Europe from around USD$200. Great turbo. Not totally PnP, but not out of the abilities of a competent mechanic / light fabricator.

03L145721B (beware of different suffixes, they may be for lower power engines than the 170HP version) is the PN you need.
