Oh that's cool, I'm going to be in search of one.

I would like to at least go with a 2260, and that would save a bunch of money.

Thank you for the info.

After several quiet years here on the build thread I finally decided to give a bit of an update.

My career had put this project on hold for a few years while the car sat awaiting my return. In 2019 with about 20K on the engine, the original build suffered a TB failure after the belt tensioner backed off and caused some slack, luckily it only damaged 2 valves and the rest of the head was alright!

After plenty of tune modifications completed by myself the car is running a very safe 35 PSI, with very good boost response for a turbo of this size on a little 4 cylinder diesel. The injection pump is far from being maxed out with the .360s injectors and smoke is fairly clean once the turbo spools.

New for the car in since the last update:

Full 3 inch exhaust
Tubular GTB Exhaust Manifold
Colt Stage 3 Camshaft
Racetronix Catch Can with -16an Lines
DieselGeek Short Shifter
PD130 Transmission side intake for better FMIC routing
A little more modest Silver/Black engine paint scheme

As time goes on I will be updating this post as well to include more detail

Plenty of time was used to help clean up the bay including a passenger side wiring harness tuck, with a battery relocation in the cars future

Drivers side intake manifold really helps clean up the engine bay and de clutter the intercooler plumbing

Hi,

It looks like you got rid of the factory air box and relocated the filter to the passenger side .... did that have a bad effect on air intake temps or did the greater flow from a bigger(?) open filter offset that ?

What air filter did you use?

I look forward to when you relocate the battery .... I would like to do that BUT I have a mental block on how to route the cables.

Thanks

Andrew

What intake do you have that routes to the drivers side? Haven't seen that before.

I have to say i really like the silver and black engine over the previous yellow.
Very cool build!!

Your car looks great and the upgrades should make for one quick ride. I'd have to agree that the black and silver paint scheme looks a lot better than the in your face yellow. If you were going to turn the car into a show car and painting the car to match, then I'd completely get it.

Looking forward to see what you do next with the car.

With you and Andrew talking about relocating the battery, I post the links I found when my batteries got relocated.

It's definitely a great way to make space under your hood by relocating the battery to the trunk.

Here are the links that I used to help relocate my batteries in both of my cars.

Then I found 2 YouTube videos that should help you out too.

Depending on the size of the battery, here are some battery boxes/holders:

Hopefully that's everything you need to relocate your battery to your trunk.🤣🤣🤣

The battery setup in my 04 Jetta.

Not as helpful as the ones from the Jetta, but here are the few I have from my track oriented RTDI.
