chinese maf housing with genuine sensor?

i got an r32 airbox for a pretty good price at the junkyard but maf was already gone. i've read that you want to switch the tdi maf element into the new housing for accurate readings anyways, so does anyone foresee a problem buying a $30 chinese knockoff r32 maf sensor on ebay just for the housing and swapping the element for the genuine tdi one?

If the housing is a different size than original, then it will not ever be accurate to what is defined in the ecu. It's a function of air flow per diameter/radius of the tube it is in.
