Lots of posts here to read on your question as many have already asked this and been answered already. The HPFP issue was somewhat rare on the early cars and has been less and less of an issue as the model years progressed. Besides they are covered by a very long court ordered warranty if something does happen to the engine fuel system and emission system. Read up on the extended warranty as well. Posted here and online. I would try and find a good 2015, but that is just me. I bought a brand new 2015 in 2017 left over (stop sale car). 11 year 162k mile warranty on it. The newer cars are much more complicated than your old 2003 though and don't really compare in any way.
