Today a notice arrived in the mail saying that a recall has been issued for a possible faulty microswitch in the shift lever mechanism of certain 2015 to 2019 Volkswagens.
This may make it possible to remove the key from the ignition when the shift lever is not in the “Park” position. If the parking brake is not used, this could make it possible for the vehicle to roll away when left unattended.
Compliance Recall 37M2
Transport Canada Recall 2019-423
Repair is not yet available, and another notice will be issued when a repair is available.
Has anyone actually had this problem? Something to watch out for...
