Oil level light

2015 Passat TDI SEL
I have a 2015 VW Passat TDI SEL. My engine oil level light came. Ive since added some oil. I was wondering, how much oil loss occurs for the light to come on. Its the 2nd time within 10k miles the light has come one.

How much oil do you have to add in order for the dipstick to read full?
