JHM 5spd Solid shifter linkage issues - Heads up

Hey Guy's just letting anyone contemplating the JHM solid shifter linkage upgrade know that I recently received mine on OCt 18 and it was
delivered with bolts that were not correctly manufactured. (Should not be used)

I have been hitting them up for answers on machining the correct parts for me, but as you can see by my posting date this is not going on very smoothly.

I am not getting the answers I want to hear from them either.

So if you have a daily driver you rely on better hold off until they can fix their inventory. They have advised all the units they have in stock are the same.

Honestly getting the feel that I am going to have to manufacture my own bolts to get the car back on the road.

Basically one bolt is long enough, but the threads start too far up the shaft to catch anymore than a 3rd of the nylock nut threads. The other bolt is too
short to work on either part of the linkage. It does not engage the hole on one side of the linkage leaving it flopping in the hole which means more play
than a stock linkage. (plus it would wear out the aluminum it would grind on as a result)

I will post a follow-up if they come through for me, but considering my car is stranded and they have to be prompted for updates I am not holding my breath.
I likely have to hit up a wrecker and find an audi a4 std or 6spd standard to raid the linkage from, and in my neck of the woods those parts are fairly rare to find.

Oh yeh, absolutely sure.
I have the short throw shifter, which is awesome and super well made.
I also got the solid bushings for the stabilizer bar, and that fits perfect.
the shifter coupling assy that I order is a perfect fit other than the bolts to hold it together.
They have comparison video of the parts, and the bolts they use in the video are great, nothing like what arrived in my shipment.

These all fit the 2005 BHW wagon with 5 speed manual conversion using the DUK transmission supplied by Frans

I opted to upgrade the shifter base assy so I could use the shifter with no reverse push down.

Resolved

So, Things all got finally resolved.

Took a couple of weeks to get this done. What to me was as simple as "send me the right length bolt" had to go through their engineering team to have them analyze things.

All that was needed was to shave down the head on one of the bolts that was already the right length and apparently in the product inventory on shelf that would have gone out to the next unlucky soul.

5 minutes on the lathe would have had it done and over with.

Baffles the mind, but at least the shift linkage is now assembled and working, I will advise if it was really worth the upgrade after testing it out for a few days.

Well I never did update this post. The Jhm setup is awesome, introduces a fair bit of transmission noise feeding through when you add the solid linkage, but to me more than worth it for how good it shifts. Definity recommended. I have switched to a 01E dqs 6 spd and working on a way to make a jhm shifter work. Part way there so far with a modified end link similiar to jhm, diy style
