Vehicle was hit in right rear Thursday 12/27/2017. Not too bad, but right rear wheel is not pointing straight. I haven't figured out what is mechanically wrong. I gave the car to my Son and he is leaving for boot camp in three months. So I'm not inspired to fix it and have it sit in my driveway.
I suspect insurance will call it totaled due to KBB and the expense of new air bags. We know the cost of the mods alone will be more than what insurance will give me. All the modifications are in my signature except suspension is actually FSD done recently. I could sell these things individually. Better if someone could take the whole car for the mods and parts or fix. Still have the Q-Loader, Q-Loader software, Vactaco and for it. 164,922 miles total. 142,024 Changed engine, timing belt kit and upgraded to Kerma S7 turbo. That's 22,898 miles on S7 turbo and timing belt.

Again, this is heartbreaking so I'd rather sell the whole car.
Please make offers.

Yes, the fuel pump failed and filled the original engine full of fuel. I had it towed to a place called Taylors in Mooresville to diagnose. The next day Richy the owner calls and asks me if I heard a big bang because his mechanic was only able to start it once. He keeps recharging the battery and may have something wrong with the starter. Since they hydrolocked the engine I had to replace it. I put in a used engine that had 111,981 miles on it. So the engine has 30,043 miles less than odometer.

Aho. That makes better sense now. Thanks.

Any pictures? How many airbags went off? Sheet metal damage or just rear axle?
I have to figure out how to do pictures again.
The passenger side air bag from the top and the front passenger side seat.
Sheet metal damage, but good enough that if it was drivable I would just call it an old car and leave it alone. I'm confused about the rear axle on it. It's a black support starting to pull away from the body. Don't know if that could be replaced. Maybe welded or a new one welded on. Won't show in a picture being all black.

Is it the axle mount that has 4 bolts going to the car and one horizontal bolt going through the axle bushing? I have been using the taptalk app but it has stopped working I post pictures from my phone.

I faced the cold and took the wheel off today. What I was seeing at night was just plastic. I believe you're right it's just the axle. To me it's more like a support for holding an axle on each side of car, but yes. I don't see a bend in a specific spot, but it looks like it's crushing the bushing and it is not where it should be.

Well - can't argue with Stromaluski - he is closer and likely able to get it sooner then I would be able to. I was asking as I just put a rear axle in mine from the insurance totalling the car. If it is just the axle it isn't so bad but if the mount is pulled from the car it is harder to tow back on a dolly and repair (for me anyways). Good deal.

Believe it's just the axle beam. The mounts look fine. I saw your other thread today. You had a whole lot more work.
Now I feel bad that I overreacted and started this thread in this location.
Insurance still needs to look at it, but you've given me hope.

Remember, it's still yours to sell or keep... (depending on what insurance says)

Agreed, still yours. Found a new rear axle on ecstuning for about 450. Bushings another 30. Add rear wheen bearings and the rear end is good to go. You can find used rear axles for around 200. I have the only car at work totaled twice and still fully insured. My car doesn't even have a name yet like some of my others.

If body is straight it isn't too bad to get it going. I just used a 3 foot level to eyeball the tires and kept replacing parts until things where straight enough to get an alignment.

I only had to pay 300 to get my car back this time. Few years ago it was 1500 to get the same type of car back. Engine fire is proving harder to find parts for. Good luck on what you do.

Just curious if insurance has looked at the car yet. I definitely still want it if they total it. :)

Sorry, I'm keeping the car.

I Just wanted to finish off the thread.

Liberty Mutual finally looked at it Friday 1/26/18. So they played around real well delaying things to the 30 day mark. Something I didn't do because I just found out, but is good to know is I could have filed a complaint with "Department of Insurance (DOI)".
