Ok I need some help before testing the waters on this idea.

I recently picked up a 2011 Q7 TDI with factory hitch but no plug installed but with the factory wiring behind the cover.

(not ready to deal with the electronic brake controller issue yet)

ECS Tuning and Audi both list part number

7L0055305N

as the correct part.

Porsche and ECS lists this part number for the Cayenne

PNA95511893B

I have looked at both parts pictures side by side over and over and see no difference in pins on front or back, insert tabs and mounting holes, manufacturer, pin function lists on the cover etc...

I do plastic injection molding and know the process of white labeling between models especially in the cross branded auto industry.

The Cayenne shares a huge number of parts so I'm inclined to buy the $16 part to test it and spend the return cost if I'm wrong.

Any up-votes concur I should try it?
