Do not take it to the dealer unless you are ready for cardiac arrest ! ! I called Dwight Harrison and they quoted me $650. I would never even consider taking the car to Jim Ellis if they were the only car dealership left in the state! ! Do yourself the favor and learn from my mistake on that one ! ! !

I just had it done at a place in Marietta called Eurotech. After having the problems they had with getting the timing done on mine, they have taken a "we don't do diesels" approach. There is a place in Woodstock that is off of Bells Ferry Rd that does European cars. I can't think of the name right off the top of my head but I will try and find out this week and post back for you. This is were I will likely take my car the next time I need service.

I am taking my 2002 Jetta TDI to a shop (German auto specialist) in Roswell, GA and am quite satisfied in every way. He says he would have no problem with my timing belt when it's time. I would be happy to provide details to any interested GA folks

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">darrel, this would be good news for the Atlanta folks. I mentioned this on another thread, but make SURE that the shop knows what it's doing. They should have the special tools required to do the job and they MUST have a VAG scan tool in order to set the pump timing afterward. If it's a german shop, they probably have a vag tool (or a Vag-Com
)

Keep us up to date...
