Audi A6 C6 3.0TDI - engine variants

Hi all,

I'm looking at the C6 A6 model, and the various 3.0TDI's engines it came with over the 6 (ish) years it was made.

3.0 24v TDI V6 DOHC turbo:
225 PS (165 kW; 222 hp)
233 PS (171 kW; 230 hp)
239 PS (176 kW; 236 hp)

Does anyone know the 3 engines codes for these please, and what was different with each in terms of reliability, upgradability, economy. Was the bottom one the CR engine?

Also what was the clutch spec on each please - did this vary much on the manuals?
More of a question for the Europeans on here perhaps!

204 and 224hp versions have best pump but more injector problems. 232hp has slightly upgraded injectors but lesser cp1 pump. All of them have Borg Warner BV50 turbo of which is impossible to make a decent hybrid. All of them have crappy timing chains.
239hp version has a Garret turbo, but rail pump is cp4 that is weak. Some run out of fuel before the stock turbo runs out of steam. The timing chain svould be slightly better on these.

The clutches are utter crap. Flywheel starts to judder with around 600nm.

224hp is BMK.
232 hp is ASB
239 hp is CDYA but there are other variations of it too.

Better get a newer one with 2260

Cdya has 2260..

240 hp with 6hp seems to be winner combo. no dmf or clutch to worry about.

But its 6hp19 in A6 chasis...

19 case but bigger internals. No room for upgrade.
