hood latch

so the hood cable on my 05 passat broke and im struggling to get it open. can anyone email me some pics of the back of the latch? or give me some pointers on how to go about opening the hood?

When working on my son's A5, I noticed that the hood cable could be reached by removing the left wheel well liner and reaching up through it. Don't know if that helps.

Also, any idea where the cable broke? If it is on the handle end, you may be able to remove the release handle and grab the cable end with pliers and pull it to open the hood.

the hook had to go right where the arrow is pointing. i had my hand up in behind the passenger side headlight. i also took to turbo outlet hose off. I put the hook up in that hole, and pushed towards the driver side of the car and POP. open it came
