trailer wiring

any no-nos ? are relays required or can you just do a straight splice? this is on an '04 jetta wagon. hidden hitch worked out nice.

I did the regular snap splices on a friends car at his request. Worked well.
On mine, I took the backs of the light assemblies off and used the extra connector pins present at each bulb socket. Worked well, also. It's just a little neater.
You will need a converter box to adapt your car's multi tail lights to the single tail lights on the trailer. Available from U-Haul. It's easy to wire and works fine.
