Does anyone else protect against Cavitation with their TDI. I have been with mine and was going to start with the wifes when I realized that no one even mentions it around here.

It was just a habit from having 6.9L and 7.3L IH diesels I guess. Have 276K on this truck. 310K on the last 1988 F250 (still ran good when I parted it out) and my father has 308K on his E350 IDI. No cavitation so I must be doing something right.

Here is a good article put up by some guys at the diesel stop.

I would tend to believe that the TDI doesn't have the same thin wall between the water jacket and cylinder wall like the IH IDI's do?

Anyway, Diesel on /images/graemlins/cool.gif

No pressed in liner. No need. Search back a while. Lots of stuff on this.

What Jason said. No cylinder liners, no need for SCAs in the coolant, etc.

Just use the VW G-12 coolant. It will last longer than your water pump will.
