Just to let anyone thinking of removing the rear brake calipers,, That A you need a 14mm triple bit, and Man the bolts are in tight,, I needed a 12" pipe on the ratchet to get them loose...

I did a complete brake job on my 2002 Jetta TDi about 3-4 years ago and I promised myself that I will NEVER EVER do another one on ANY car !!!

I did rotors/pads on my '12 Passat few days ago, was a piece of cake. Those were fronts :). I do have have the tool (Amazon) for the rear pistons too, for JIC. These can't be just pushed in, have to be rotated at the same time.

If bracket bolts have seized, then yeah, it could get ugly.

A friend of mine, has alerted me this very morning, about shallow 400#+ impact that HF sells, it is only 4" deep, as opposed to more common 8".

Did a full brake and rotor job about six weeks ago (EBC slotted and redstuff). My original rotors were rusted fairly well to the hubs ~91k miles. I had to hammer and rotate rotors 180 degrees many times. Make sure you clean the hubs well and lightly coat them with anti-seize before installing new.

Never mind, I'll probably take the buy-out!
