Hi all, hope I'm in the right section.
I have a 2011 Passat with the CR 2.0TDi engine fitted, I'm in the UK.
My A/C compressor is diagnosed as being shot (Shaft failure) and I'm about to fit a new one along with drier and expansion valve.
My question is should I drive the car with no refrigerant and more importantly no oil in the system to the local air con re gas place?
I understand the compressor fitted to this car does not have a clutch so would therefore be spinning even if the aircon is switched off???
Either that or I could maybe leave the serpentine belt off and hope the battery holds out until I get back.
Thanks
