Every time I get in the car, it links to my iphone and plays something thru the Bluetooth. Sometimes audiobook, sometimes music, even if the music app is closed. Today it tried playing a YouTube video. ***? I just want it to start the last thing I was listening to whether it was sat, fm, am, or iPhone.

Similar but opposite problem: my phone starts playing something random as soon as I shut off the car... sometimes music, sometimes recorded voicemail, etc. I'm guessing our problems are phone-specific so maybe no one can fix, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

I've got the RCD-510. I'll check the BT auto play when I leave work, and will let you know what I find. Thanks for the tip Sigforty.

FYI--BT Auto Play was not checked. I decided to go ahead and check it to see if anything changed. Phone didn't go crazy when I shut off, but the car stereo does now play music from my phone upon starting, if I'm in Media instead of FM/AM/etc. My guess is that is what the OP is dealing with, combined with a glitch that is defaulting him to Media instead of FM/AM/Sat/whatever he last used. Just guessing though.

I've got the 510 and I haven't noticed that problem. Mine does seem to default to the last thing that I was listening too.

There's a new reflash for your stereo that cures the issue. Your dealer can do it in about an hour.....
My problem or the OP's? For anyone following, with the BT Auto Play checked I had the same problem as the OP--automatically played something from my phone regardless of what I had been listening to last. I unchecked the BT Auto Play, and now my phone is back to playing something whenever I shut off the car. Seems like I can't win, unless this reflash fixes my issue(s) as well.

If the checking BT auto play did not solve the issue there is an update. I had an issue where my phone regardless of radio setting would be playing audio. The new update will stop the phone from auto playing even though media is not selected.

I have a '13 passat tdi which this never happens with, but a rental (non-tdi) I had last week did exactly this... Really strange. I didn't spend any time trying to troubleshoot, though.

Newest update release is SOLELY for the 2014 Premium 8 stereos.

The one listed below does work well with the earlier Premium 8 stereos. Makes the BT streaming function a button select instead of automatic.

I've got the SE. No navigation. Guess that means RCD10? I'll look for the check box.
