A/C FAN MAKING LOUD NOISES

I HAVE A 2001 JETTA TDI AND JUST TODAY I NOTICED THE A/C FAN MAKING LOUDER THAN NORMAL SOUNDS. IT SOUNDS LIKE A BEARING MAY BE GOING OUT. IS THIS HARD TO FIX ? ANY THOUGHTS ON HOW I MAY ACCOMPLISH THIS.

Kill your caps button first.

Your motor is going south. You need to replace it, no way around it. I have seen sereral go on these cars already. $250+ for the fan and about 4 hours labor to replace it. The whole dash needs to come apart basically.

What is the caps button? I have and extended warranty that covers my a/c unit so i will move to get it covered under that.
