Let me know what your takeaways are from Highland please.
Well I had the 10k service performed there today.
After peppering Cheryl the service writer with several question regarding their procedures I decided they knew enough to do the job.
They used Castrol LL03 507 spec oil, which was a relief, and they didn't spill any Adblue in the trunk, which was another plus.
However they did manage to make a bit of a mess when it came to changing the oil filter. They did a bottom side drain (they don't even have a top side oil removal unit) which means the belly pan had to be removed. The problem is there is oil on top of the belly pan which tells me the filter was removed before the belly pan. Now why in the world you wouldn't remove the belly pan first since the oil has to be drained from the bottom anyway is beyond me. Makes no sense.
I spent about 20 minutes trying to get the excess oil cleaned up from around the filter housing and everything beneath it. Not something I should be doing and something I will be mentioning before they get their hand on it for the 20k service.
The rest of it went OK as far as I can tell, meaning at least there are no warning lights on the dash yet.
