1997 vw vento 1.9 tdi immobiliser problem can i bypass?

i,ve just changed the igntion barral and colomn on mine i used a vr6 one i,ve swapped over the chip in the key and the transponder ring around the igntion barrel also but the car will now not start is there anyway of by passing the immobiliser of does the car need reprogramming?
