Exh back presure valve. So going to take to dealer let them explain to whats causing it to set. All dieselgate PCM upgrades done. Only had one other PCM code for a glow plug, Replaced it with new one. Glow plug wasn't burnt out, something about a pressure sense circuit in it(?).

i was reading the extended warranty from the VW court settlement. According to it, " the Exhaust Flap and its controls" are still under warranty.


Is there just the one flap(Exhaust Back Pressure valve) or are there others in exhaust?


Also states warranty is extended to ten years or 120000 miles to original owner, which applies to me.

yeah warranty will cover it, it was a really simple and common repair item on Gen1, and then VW rev'ed the part and failures went down.

Seeing EGR duty cycles are increased with emissions fixes they may start climbing back up. Our 2012 Passat went 80k without any issues with the valve, where as our 2010 went about 40K before needing it replaced (under extended warranty per VWoA).

all done, warrantied. plus had a few recalls done same time . in/out 2hours 15 minutes. TY Trend Motors Rockaway, NJ
