2015 MIB2 Upgrade - Anyone done one?

I was thinking of upgrading the display to the larger MIB2 8" unit. How hard is it and how expensive is it. I have also seen that the new (2019, maybe earlier) have 9" screens. Is that possible (within a reasonable cost) to do on my GSW?

I have the Fender/Nav unit in my 2015 GSW SEL.

There is a few aftermarket units that have carplay and full MFSW controls, not sure if you can still access the "car" features that have been removed from the MFD screen though.

Yes, check out the thread indicated. If you want the 8" screen with Nav, eurozoneautoparts sell it for $629 on eBay. With new headunit, Fender amp, CP removal and AppConnect key (assuming you want it) you will get close to 2k.

I'm doing the 6.5" screen, non-Nav version and it'll cost me close to 1k.

As mentioned in that referenced thread, I went with the plug-and-play solution from APG.
Just under $2K.

I'd guess it took me a little over an hour to do the removal / install; having done it once now, though, I could probably get it done in 30 minutes on a second go-'round.

Now that more people did the MIB2 upgrade, has anyone figured out the PID values that would allow to pull similar data as the VAG DPF app. I'm able to get the PID values to show on Android Auto via the OBD2AA app.

I've been following a bunch of threads on vortex about it. Eurozone tuning has a bunch of kits for OEM.

On our '15 Passat, PIDs that worked on my CJAA and CRKA worked on the '15, same version and special coding for Torque. Not sure if thats the same or the MQB platform.

Can someone explain what PIDs are and how you use them?
(In an App? special hardware?)

OBD-II PIDs. OBD-II PIDs (On-board diagnostics Parameter IDs) are codes used to request data from a vehicle, used as a diagnostic tool. SAE standard J1979 defines many OBD-II PIDs.
