Engine noise

Hello,
I have this noise from the engine, it is loudest underneath the engine from the sump area. Rod bearing?

Also P0303 000 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected.

The bottom ends of these engines are very sturdy, so I would suggest you research dual mass flywheel (DMF) issues which are far more common. Youtube has several videos with sound of failed flywheels for you to hear and compare your noise with. Search this forum as well.

unfortunately it turned out to be the no 3 rod bearing so i need a new crank and con rod.

Wow. What happened? Ran it out of oil? Ingested some metal shavings?

It looks a clean engine with a good service record,
one of the rod bolts was loose, but I don't know if that caused the problem or the damage made it come loose.
