Dealer and 80,000 timing belt

My 1999.5 jetta needs its fourth timing belt. Now that the 80,000 mile parts are available, I gave the dealer the numbers. They seem to be confused. Has anyone replaced their 60,000 belt with the 80,000 belt at the dealer? Did you have any trouble sourcing parts? Any input would help. Thanks

You can get them from www.dieselgeek.com , many dealers are unfortunately clueless . The 80k belt is 100% interchangable with the 60k belt. It looks a little different, as it has a textured smooth side, and the part number is embossed into the rubber. I think it ends with an "F". Also, VW said the '03 models are good to 100k miles with this same belt. Be sure to replace the tensioner, too!
