Sticky second gear

I'm a little concerned about the state of my transmission components. I money-shifted from 3rd to 2nd yesterday and now its really sticky and tough to get into second gear. Could my synchros be damaged?

My second gear was really "notchy" when I first got my car. I did a fluid change on the trans, using OEM VW fluid and the issue went away. There is a whole religious argument on the best fluids, I bought royal purple, but after reading other posts and concerns on that version of RP, I went with the proven OEM VW product and never looked back. Be sure to look at the old fluid for any metallic content.

P.S. Mine use to be a bit more sensitive in winter. After the fluid change, year round fun with no issues.
