MKV Trouble priming fuel system

Title really says it all.

Due to the consistent P2015 code, purchased new intake and replaced. Code has disappeared.

Now trying to prime the fuel system to allow starting. Have followed the Benley manual and used VCDS to run fuel pumps. No go. Loosened the injector lines to bleed air from common rail and ran pumps with VCDS. Nothing but air.

Loosened the fuel return connection (hose) at the common rail and started fuel pump. Plenty of fuel flow from the return line but nothing at the rail.

What am I missing to prime this fuel rail?

I started to bleed the hp system starting one joint at a time. Went from the injectors to the HPFP. Got flow at the HPFP while using VCDS to run the electric pumps. Closed system up and ran the fuel pump prime from VCDS again. Engine finally caught and started.

Seems the Bently needs to be updated to discuss air bleed procedures. Would have saved me a lot of time.
