Fast turn signal flashing

OK Guys I have a 2004 VW Jetta TDI Wagon, I replaced all of my rear lights with L.E.D lights now my turn signals are flashing at double speed just like if I had a burned out bulb-But I dont. I checked with VW and there is no heavy duty relay available-(years ago that was the fix-I dont know if it still is and even if it would work) --Any ideas out there. I know I am not the first to have this issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

LED's don't create enough resistance to slow the relay down. You might even get a Glow Plug Light warning because the ECU thinks your bulbs are burnt out.

There are some LED's with resistors built in so that we can use them without the issues you are experiencing.

Search this forum and you should see some vendors that carry these bulbs.

Just like PB_NB states the LED will need resistors to work correctly.

Resistors not necessary on the MK4.

Just disable the low voltage sensing circuit by cutting pin 7 in the emergency flasher unit.
