Door Courtesy Lights Retrofit B6 Passat

Hi, Attempting to do this:

Courtesy lights that come on when I open the door.

Trying to do it the factory way, without bodging micro-switches etc.

Tried it in pin 1 and ground, not working.

Tried it in pin 18 and ground, not working.

My door controller isn't the one they mention above, it is 1K0 959 793 G.

Any ideas before I just bodge with micro-switches?!

Yeah, had my friend do it with his VCDS, and the coding stuck perfectly.

The wiring on a B5 passat will be different. I'd suggest looking at the wiring diagrams for your car, a Bora might be similar.
