I'm considering replacing the clutch (DMF failing) on my wife's Beetle. After searching, I can see several references to how tight the space is in the NB and some vague mention that additional items (unique to the NB) must be removed to get the transmission out. However, I can't seem to find any specific advice or procedures tailored for the NB. Can anyone please point me in the right direction and/or share their experience?

There are just too many to list....
Pretty much identical to the A4 Golf/Jetta except the power steering reservoir will kinda flop around up top. Battery tray is a little different, but comes out essentially the same way, just has an extra bit attached for the inlet tube snorkel and the ground cable has a stay on the underside.

Pretty easy gearbox to R&R, IMHO.
