Default AAM has 02A/02J 5 speed gearbox love!

Thanks to our very successful Audi 6 speed transmission program I'm proud to announce Advanced Automotion's V5 02A/02J 5 speed overhaul and strengthening program.

The 02A/02J 5 speed gearbox is the workhorse of VW transmissions being used for nearly 20 years it has gained a good reputation in the VW world, but it hasn't been without it's problems.

We've managed to develop a rebuilding and overhauling program that addresses some of the 02J's weak points all the while keeping the price tag competitive with some of the other re-builders, all while using superior rebuild parts and components.

All internal rotating parts are cryogenically tempered. This process similar to heat treating, except on the other end of the thermometer has been proven to increase tensile strength, grain uniformity, and surface hardness for steel gears and shaft. We use the pioneering leader 300 Below for all of our cryogenic processing.

We use a cast steel output shaft support plate versus the stock stamped steel unit (and were are working on a billet steel piece). This provides better support to the output shaft and differential area.

We use the latest machined (not powdered metal) upgraded differential spider gears and pin mechanisms, eliminating the problem of the diff exploding and taking out the case.

100% OEM german seals are used. Unlike other rebuilders we don't use inferior asian sourced sealign products to pinch pennies.

All syncros are replaced as well as all bearings. Upgraded factory parts are used including the latest composite syncros for uncompromised shifting quality. Many rebuilder use aftermarket plain brass syncros because they are a tenth the cost of the composite syncros.

We don't cover up dirty cases with black paint like some other manufacturers. Cases are degreased, washed, inspected, then glass beaded, then washed, inspected and washed again. Output flanges are black oxide coated for aesthetic value and corrosion protection.

Additional metal surface treatments are also offered. We have partnered with WPC to provide the end all of metal treatments. On a 6 speed Audi transmission a gearbox with WPC treated internals will use on average 10 percent less power, and operate 20 degrees cooler when compared to non WPC gearboxes.

We also offer 2 limited slip options, a Peloquin or Wavetrac differential if the customer desires.

If you want custom gears ratios, that isn't a problem either. We are acquiring USA and European spec cores to accommodate alternative gear ratios, and if a ratio doesn't exist we can have it made! if you want straight cut gears and dog engagements gearsets, we can offer those in the near future.

All of this for a base price of $1495.00 with an acceptable core exchange.

A wavetrac or Peloquid is $850.00.

If you want custom gearsets best contact me via email or PM.

Cores are currently scarce, so depending upon the transmission code, I will have to request your gearbox be sent in for processing.

Thanks an apologies for JOETDI. He;s graciously and patiently awaited for us to do his gearbox all while we had to design a new transmission dyno, source OEM parts, and perfect our processes.
