Fuel mileage 2015 Passat at 9955 miles.

Purchased October 18th 2014.
Today it has 9955 miles and a full tank.

254.6 gallons diesel purchased at $570.34.
Winter tires 7000 miles
95% highway miles
33% 65 to 85 mph to Florida.
62 % 45 to 65 mph to work.
5% city.

That is 39.1 MPG

60% highway/40% city

43.2 mpg!

I think I've mastered the glide-to-a-red-light technique and I also try to avoid commuting during peak hours (I'm self-employed, so I choose to work 10 to 6, rather than 9 to 5). I also like to run to engine hard (full throttle/max boost) for 60-90 seconds up a steep grade on a freeway at least once a day to burn off the soot from city driving (I can sure smell it - it works!).

My 2012 was always over 40, even with cold weather and winter tires. I don't have good feelings with the 2015 getting as good. We will see how the next 10,000 does.

You just can't keep your foot out of that extra 10hp...
