Alarm won\'t turn off...Can\'t start car

Hello guys,

Need some more help...
I have a 99.5 Golf and my remote key has not worked for the last 2 years. I have been openning my car doors like other cars do...

But latelly, when the Temp outside is hot, When I turn the key to unlock the doors, the door unlocks but the red blinking light continues to flash. If I try to start the car, the alarm goes off.

Now what I have to do, is turn the key multiple times (10 minutes) in the key hole until the door unlocks and alarm shuts off...

Any clues as to how I can fix this????

Sounds like a classic case of the microswitch in the driver's door lock going haywire. There are several threads here at Fred's that discuss it, including how to replace the whole latch with new (expensive) or replacing just the switch with a little surgery (much cheaper). Instructions for both methods are in here somewhere, give it a good search.

Read the other post and this sound what my problem is...

Not sure if a newbie can perform this...

Will start with the cleaning/greasing of the Microswitch...

then I will see

Fuse 16 sound like a good idea as well

thanks for this info

Would using the remote entry key, bypass this problem???

If so would it not be cheaper to buy a key?

I had a similar problem with mine last month. Somehow my FOB no longer talked to my car. When I tried to start it the alarm would go off. I took my master key(key without FOB) and followed the instructions from the manual and reprogrammed my FOB. I would try that first before replacing any parts.
