Hello,
Has anyone ever replaced a leatherette seat bottom cover with a leather seat bottom cover, in a heated seat?
The reason I am asking is that I have read that one should not replace a cloth cover with leather because the heating element will be too hot for leather. Apparently, the heating elements are different, and the one used in cloth generates more heat. I want to know if a leatherette seat and a
leather seat use the same heating element and if a direct swap is possible.
Although I like the leatherette, I like the way real leather polishes and permits one to "slide into the seat" and since real leather covers are available through VW, I am thinking of replacing my leatherette seat bottom cover.
Thanks for any input!
