Hey everyone! Shortly after I bought my 2004 Golf TDI I noticed a battery draining problem and I couldn't get VAG-COM to read the electric stystem. Through some checking around with a multi-meter I found a draw to the radio. To combat this I have been just pulling the fuse and putting it back in every time I go anywhere. I pulled my radio today, in hopes of fixing it and here is what I found.https://goo.gl/photos/sqMfrPvMVcWXPEvx5
The problem I am having is where do I even begin with finding what's drawing my battery?
Should I rewire an OEM radio connector in, buy an aftermarket harness and wire it in like it's supposed to be done?
What are these 4 wires that are connected? Is one of them the k-line?https://goo.gl/photos/vWqcXhuUfHjiR9eb6
Also, Should this be hooked up? https://goo.gl/photos/HmfJBQkJb8CSfKUo8
Thanks in advance!

Well.. the obvious solution is always 'return to stock' whenever you come across this stuff. Especially if it is interefering with your OBD2 comms.

If you are set on leaving it and figuring out which wires are carrying your pixies away, try a DC clamp meter. I have this one and its pretty good: link.

Gads, what a mess. First thing I would check is that the power injector for the antenna is not connected to a constant hot lead. Then I'd check all the other power feeds. Something is on a constant hot that shouldn't be.

I dont think the K line is an issue starting with the double DIN radios (2002 year). That's why I see a PAC-UP device in one of the pics. There are several models so it may not be the one I linked to. It allows communication to the CAN bus for steering wheel radio controls and other options.
