Tire installation at Wal Mart

Each of the last two times I had tires installed at Wal Mart they ruined a rim, one a $200.00 one and the second a $400.00 one.

purchase (as verified by a copy of the original purchase invoice),
which ever comes first. In the event the original purchase invoice
is unavailable, the D.O.T. serial number will be used to determine

eligibility.

I can get the invos for just over $200 each. They may not apply to the TDICLUB type, but you will not find these tires for under $300 each, if you can even find them.

I would do so much better selling these on the vortex or on a mustang forum, but the Neo Gens are definitely worth checking out even for the avid TDI enthusiast. I can get these between $150 and $165 depending on availability....Sure beats the hell out of paying $130 and up for crappy Falkens.

i would hope that a $165 tire would be better than a $110 tire ( that what it cost me locally installed) ...so my question still stands? :)

any idea how it compares to the yoko S-drive or Es100's? i really liked that ES100...

Are you selling them? Have you inquired about vendor status on the club? Is that why you're pushing these in this thread and the other?

I know plenty about these tires, but I still don't see how this "NITTO" (oooh ahhhh, gasp) tire will do that much better. Most people on this forum are not looking for a performance tire, but rather a tire that has good wear, good MPG, and something that is quieter.

I paid $90 a tire for my last set of tires, For your tire, I would be spending $60 a tire more, for what? There is no way that these tires are going to last that much longer.

I bought the Falken 452's last year on 17" longbeach rims, cost $525 installed. They are quite firm on the road, this year they have become laud so if you want quiet tires they are not. Also I have had 2 hydroplaining events this year.

I ended up going with the Maxxis Z1s. So far, I love them! Smooth, quiet, sticky (haven't lost traction once yet with these). I'll be curious to see how they do next year!

My champiro GT's are the best tire I have put on. Im shocked how quiet they are. They stick really well in wet and dry. Im shocked, they perform better then the 133$ installed. My cousin put them on his golf, and likes them.

I have brand new Falken 912s on my Golf. So far 10,000 kms on them and I am surprised how quiet they are. They stick solid on wet & dry of course.

I'm wondering: to help them last a long time, someone recommended to me that I can rotate them every 10,000 kms if I want. Do you think this is a good idea? (I have an electric impact gun, torque wrench, etc, so easy for me to do in my driveway).

the more frequently u can rotate them, the better it is for tread life...

Hey Diesel Drink

Where and how much did you pick them up for balanced and installed?

I bought the tires alone from Precision. Then I got them mounted & balanced for $35 at a local place to me on Kipling.

Price from Precision at the time was just south of $100 per tire. I'm sure his prices could vary a bit up or down depending on time and whatever other business factors he has, but I'm sure its still around there give or take.

Another vote for then Nexen 3000's.

I've got 225/45R17's on my NB and, for a cheap tire, they seem great to me. I would buy them again.

I had both Falken 512s and Azenis. 2 different types of tires. Both last a litle. I am an agresive driver and I will chew up on tires, I know that. So keep that in mind when you read my opinion and experience with them.
So here it goes. 512's lasted me 45-50km. Soft sidewalls, great grip on dry, wet cold or warm. Beyond 25% thread left they are prone to aquaplaning. Great tire for the money.
Azenis, they are performance tires...I am not sure how many of you would like/buy those but...they are AWSOME tires for dry warm weather. Lasted about 40k. Same soft sidewalls. Prone to aquaplaning from new. Don't even think of using them in cold wet weather.
Nexen eurowin 630, winter tires. Worst 400$ I ever spent. Bearly any grip in any type of weather and conditions. Prone to aquaplaning, soft sidewalls...HORRIBLE. They'll last forever...since they're made of plastic :(
I would buy Falkens again, I would not go near Nexens again.
I drove a car on Maxis. They felt decent. But can't say much about them.
Since somebody mentioned Kumho's. I had some winters, KW17. Great, great tires. They only lasted me 55k. Stiff sidewalls, at least stiffer than Falken.

Oh, the Nexxens, I think one of them has a separated belt or something and it started couping at only 25k.
All the other ones went in the trash bold.
Good luck picking tires :)
