FWIW, Esso 0w30/40 extra XD-3 synthetic is $18-$22 for 4L depending on where you get it.

Yeah that's what I always thought but this says 100% syn.
with a new label design and all. But you are right about
the base 3 stuff. It's only CG I think. But for older
cars like my 1.9td it's enough and cheaper than D1.
