Heater core bypass question.

I don't feel like taking apart the whole dashboard this mont or the next to replace the leaking core so I just want to bypass the coolant hoses for now.

The right side connector is a regular 90deg elbow.

The left side connector is an elbow with a small fitting that connects to a tee fitting routin to the small hose that comes out near the cap of the overflow bottle.

Can I just plug this hose (heater core-to-overflow connecting hose)?

Or is it necessary? I didn't trace where this hose ends.

As long as the hoses you take off of the heater core still flow water, you should be okay.

you can just connect the hoses that go into the firewall in the motor bay.
